The CR that was passed Thursday by the Uniparty is a perfect example of how we arrived at $34 trillion of debt.
It's especially rich that some of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle advocated for passage for the sake of Ukraine...all while our border is left wide open.

Last week, Kevin O'Leary, aka Mr. Wonderful, testified before the House Committee on Small Business.
We discussed the unsustainable trajectory of government spending and the need for cuts before it's too late.

Our Constitution reads, "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion."
Yet, Secretary Mayorkas is permitting 10K migrants a day to infiltrate the U.S.
Enough is enough. IMPEACH

Last week, I joined The Afternoon Addiction with Garret Lewis and The Conservative Circus with James T. Harris.
We discussed the Uniparty selling out America through continuing resolutions and the disastrous border package coming out of the Senate.
Our party almost never plays to win, and that's unacceptable. Doing the right thing is always more important than optics.

- Cosigned Letter to the FBI on 15 Month Backlog of CBP DNA Test Kits: Congressman Crane joined Rep. Biggs (R-AZ) in writing a letter to the FBI inquiring into a reported 15-month backlog in processing DNA tests received from CBP. As you may know, last month, the Daily Caller published an article describing a nearly 15-month backlog at the FBI to process DNA test kits used by CBP to identify illegal aliens. The results from these test kits are used to help identify illegal aliens who are currently wanted for crimes and to identify ones who may later commit a crime. CBP already chooses not to test as many illegals as they could because they have been experiencing a major shortage in receiving test kits from the FBI. However, because of this backlog at the FBI, the results from the small number of individuals that CBP does test won’t be available until well over a year after those individuals have been released into the country. On top of this, the program that the FBI uses to process these test kits is the same program it uses to test DNA kits from local, state, and other federal law enforcement agencies. By signing on, the Congressman asks critical questions about our national security, as CBP has increasingly encountered individuals who are involved in cartel crime, gang activity, and acts of terror.
- Cosigned Letter on Georgia Prosecution of Donald Trump: Congressman Crane joined Rep. Clyde (R-GA) in writing a letter to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and Attorney General Christopher regarding recent reports that Georgia’s Fulton County District Attorney (DA), Fani Willis, allegedly hired a romantic partner to assist in the prosecution of President Donald Trump. DA Willis has accepted more than $14.6 million in grant funds from President Joe Biden’s Justice Department (DOJ) between 2020 and 2023. Specifically, the romantic partner – Nathan Wade – billed taxpayers for 24 hours of legal work, attesting that he worked all day and night without break on a politically motivated prosecution. By signing on, the Congressman pushes back on the misuse of taxpayer funds and the overtly political tactics to punish President Trump for fighting for election integrity efforts in Georgia.

- H.R. 6914 – Pregnant Students’ Rights Act: The Congressman SUPPORTED this legislation, which ensures that institutions of higher education who receive taxpayer funding are disseminating information to enrolled students about their rights, protections, and accommodations for carrying a baby to term. As you may know, navigating college can be difficult for pregnant students. In many cases, women feel pressured to end their pregnancies or risk academic failure, despite protections. By voting in support, the Congressman supports pregnant students, or students thinking about becoming pregnant at institutions of higher education.
- H.R. 6918 – Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act: The Congressman SUPPORTED this legislation which nullifies an HHS rule that restrict states from using Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funding for pregnancy centers. As you may know, pregnancy centers play a crucial role in protecting the life of women and unborn children by offering counseling, pregnancy education, pregnancy testing, diapers, baby clothes, and material support. By voting in support, the Congressman highlights the hypocrisy of the Biden Administration’s actions to cut funding for a program that provides help to low-income families with children achieve economic self-sufficiency.

- S. Amdt. To H.R. 2872 – Further Additional Continuing Appropriations and Other Extensions Act: The Congressman OPPOSED this legislation, which extends government funding at the same levels of the lame duck Biden-Pelosi omnibus, which has and will continue to be used for President Biden’s disastrous policies such as the border crisis, the war on American energy production, and a woke and weaponized bureaucracy. As you may know, over the next decade, annual federal government deficits are projected to double to nearly $3 trillion. By voting in opposition, the Congressman showcases this CR as a perfect example of how we arrived at this unsustainable fiscal situation and seeks to use the power of the purse to hold the Administration accountable.

Eli Crane, who voted to oust Kevin McCarthy, wants to keep option 'on the table' for Mike Johnson The Washington Times
Key Excerpts: - A House Republican who voted to boot former Speaker Kevin McCarthy last year wants to keep the same maneuver available for his successor.
- Rep. Eli Crane, Arizona Republican, joined the ranks of frustrated arch-conservatives who have floated ousting House Speaker Mike Johnson, Louisiana Republican, over his handling of spending and border security issues.
- Mr. Crane was coy on whether he would actually follow through with a motion to vacate, the same procedural tool that he and seven other Republicans used to oust Mr. McCarthy. But he did not rule out the move.
- “I’m not going to say whether I would or whether I wouldn’t, I think it’s a good tool, and I want it to stay on the table,” Mr. Crane said. “And you know, I may be a part of something in the future. We’ll see.”
- Frustrations with Mr. Johnson have continued to simmer after he remains committed to the $1.66 trillion spending deal for fiscal 2024 that he negotiated with Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer, and has supported another stopgap bill to avert a partial government shutdown.
- Those frustrations could boil over if the speaker accepts Democrats’ plan in the Senate’s negotiations to include border policy changes in President Biden’s $110 billion funding request for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
- “I think it’s preposterous that we’re sitting here and we’re holding this security on the southern border hostage over funding a war in Europe,” Mr. Crane said. “I think that’s ridiculous.”
Congressman Eli Crane visits Tri-City Regional Sanitary District Arizona Silver Belt
Key Excerpts: - The Tri-City Regional Sanitary District (TRSD) started 2024 on a very upbeat note with a visit from Congressman Eli Crane, Arizona Congressional District 2 representative, and Gaither Martin, the congressman’s district director.
- The congressman noted that while he has visited this region of his very expansive district on numerous occasions, this was his first visit where he had the opportunity to tour the ongoing TRSD wastewater collection and treatment project.
- Crane and Martin were hosted by TRSD Board Members Robert Jacques and Connie Callaway and TRSD Bond Counselor Tim Stratton.
- The visit began with an overview of the project’s Phase 3 and the water reclamation facility from the hills on the east side of the project. It continued with an on-the-ground tour of the project’s Phase 1 to get a firsthand look at some of the more challenged areas of the project.
- Crane understands that the wastewater treatment needs of residences within project boundaries are currently served by onsite cesspools (banned in 1976) and septic tanks (the majority of which do not meet current codes).
- The TRSD project will replace those individual systems with a centralized wastewater collection and treatment system.
- During and following the tour, the congressman commented on the areal expanse of and clear need for the project.
- He continuously engaged the TRSD team in discussions on the project’s near- and long-term benefits, on TRSD’s ongoing efforts to secure additional grant funding, and on the difficulties it faces in order to maintain a scheduled beginning of Phase 1 construction in the second quarter of 2024.
- At the close of the visit, Crane commented he was in full support of the project and that his team would work with TRSD on a variety of fronts to help the project secure available grant funding and, possibly, to address obstacles that impact the project’s schedule.
- The members of the TRSD team who accompanied the congressman on the tour are thankful for his comments.
- We understand his demanding schedule and appreciate his offer of assistance, where necessary, to successfully complete the project.
Biden Admin Shifts the Goal Posts on Yemen Strikes The American Conservative
Key Excerpts: - On Tuesday, the United States executed further attacks on Houthi rebel positions inside Yemen.
- Per U.S. officials, the strikes destroyed four anti-ship ballistic missiles that the Houthis were purportedly preparing to launch as they continue their campaign of Red Sea commerce disruption.
- This is the latest in a series of American strikes against the Houthis, who have been targeting shipping since the outbreak of war between Israel and Gaza.
- On January 12, the U.S. and the U.K. launched a coordinated strike on Houthi rebel positions, taking aim at more than 60 targets across 16 sites where the Houthis are known to operate in Yemen.
- Tuesday’s strikes were on a smaller scale than the earlier attack, and U.S. officials told POLITICO the action was not pre-planned, but rather taken quickly to prevent what officials believed to be an imminent attack.
- The head of U.S. Central Command reportedly gave the order to carry out Tuesday’s preemptive strikes.
- In response, the Houthi rebels fired a ballistic missile at a Maltese-flagged and Greek-owned commercial vessel in the Red Sea. While damaged, the ship did not sink.
- “It’s in Congress’s constitutional purview to declare war—meaning Biden needs to make the case to this body so we’re not haphazardly drawn into another forever war,” Rep. Eli Crane of Arizona told The American Conservative via email.
- “Considering this admin’s short but plentiful history of screwing up every foreign policy decision, Congress’s check on this power is even more dire.”
- As for the Biden administration, the goal posts for what these strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen are meant to accomplish are already shifting.
- “We did not say when we launched our attacks, they’re gonna end once and for all,” claimed national security adviser Jake Sullivan at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday.
18 GOP Lawmakers Call for House to Impeach Mayorkas The Daily Signal
Key Excerpts: - All 18 Republicans on a key House committee support the impeachment and removal of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, an announcement that directly followed a hearing Thursday in which two mothers laid the blame for the deaths of their daughters at the feet of President Joe Biden’s appointee.
- “In my humble opinion, Mr. Mayorkas’ border policy is partially responsible for my daughter’s death,” Arizona mother Josephine Dunn told the House Homeland Security Committee. “His wide-open border policy allows massive quantities of poisonous fentanyl into our country.”
- Dunn’s daughter Ashley died in 2021 at age 26 after a drug dealer sold her a pill containing fentanyl.
- “We’re losing our children,” Dunn told the committee. “We’re losing a generation of children. We’re at war. We need our military at the border. That’s what we need. We don’t need more Border Patrol. We need our military at the border stopping the drugs.”
- After Thursday’s hearing concluded, all 18 GOP committee members issued a statement calling for Mayorkas’ impeachment by the House.
- “After our nearly yearlong investigation and subsequent impeachment proceedings, and having exhausted all other options to hold him accountable, it is unmistakably clear to all of us—and to the American people—that Congress must exercise its constitutional duty and impeach Secretary Mayorkas,” the Republican lawmakers said in the public statement.
