Today, I joined the Gila River Police Department in Sacaton, AZ for the FLETC Firearms Instructor Training Program. 

This session focused on care, maintenance, skills, and safety protocols for newly assigned firearms instructors.

Gill (R-TX) in introducing legislation that implements the same restrictions and limitations Americans are subject to when buying agricultural land in other countries to foreign purchasers of U.S. agricultural land. In essence, the bill would establish reciprocity in buying agricultural land for citizens and companies. As you may know, current federal law imposes almost no restrictions on the amount of private U.S. agricultural land that can be owned by foreigners (including those from hostile nations). United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported that foreign persons and entities hold an interest in 45.85 million acres of U.S. agricultural land. However, American citizens are restricted from owning agricultural land in many countries. Here you can see a document showing the restrictions other countries have on Americans. Each foreign purchase of our agricultural land erodes U.S. sovereignty, drives up prices for American farmers, and threatens our national food security. From a practical standpoint, this legislation would ban China and Iran from buying our agricultural land, while placing fewer stringent requirements on allies who have less restrictions on American citizens. By signing on, Congressman Crane levels the playing field for the American people and effectively prevents our adversaries from purchasing American farmland, protecting American food security.
  
  
• Cosponsored a Bill to Protect Farmers and Ranchers: Congressman Crane joined Rep. Davidson (R-OH) in introducing the REAL Meat Act, which prohibits federal funding for lab-grown meat. As you may know, ranching, livestock farming, and butchering are a way of life for many hard-working Americans. Despite American farmers already providing nutritious sustenance in the form of domestically produced meats, there is a concentrated push on the part of well-connected, environmentalist interests to supplant natural meat with fake cell cultured meat. The safety profile of the meats remains a matter of debate with these products being grown in potentially bacteria infested vats. Many states – including the state of Arizona – and even some countries have even gone as far as to ban the product outright. By signing on, the Congressman ensures that hard working ranchers, farmers and butchers are not put out of business by an inferior and potentially dangerous product.
